Final Cut Due
Listed below is a detailed, week to week itinerary of our program:
Introductory Call with Mentor, Leilani Downer. During this call, we'll provide an overview of the program, and begin our first lesson on screenwriting. The calls will typically be held on a Saturday. On the following Friday, your first scripts and breakdowns will be due at 5PM.
During week 2, you'll receive feedback on your scripts and have time to make adjustments. A Casting director will contact you to help ensure that you have casting options in your home town. Our staff will also be sending you a list of Hollywood ambassadors who will view/comments on your film and provide feedback on your final cut. Sending your films to ambassadors will endure that you receive exposure for your work to expand your professional network.
During week 3, we will conduct screenwriter workshops with your mentor via phone. During this process, we'll workshop approximately 5 screenplays at a time, and each writer will receive comments from your mentor, as well as other filmmakers in your group.
During week 4, you will begin the casting process for your film, and start planning pre-production. The casting process should be wrapped up at the end of week 4, to prepare for your shoot.
Weeks Five, Six, and Seven:
During weeks 5,6, and 7, you will begin the casting process for your film, and start planning pre-production. The casting process should be wrapped up at the end of week 4, to prepare for your shoot.
At the end of week 8, the final cuts of your films will be due at the end of the week (Friday, at 5pm). Once we receive your films, they will be viewed by your mentors and sent to our industry ambassadors.
At the end of week 8, we will repeat the process outlined from weeks 1-8, with the exception of the introductory call.
